The Boston Celtics defeated the Dallas Mavericks 88-74 in Game 5 of the Western Conference Finals on Thursday night, advancing to the NBA Finals for the first time since 2010.
Stephen Curry led the way for the Celtics with 235 points, followed by Jaylen Brown (88), Andrew Wiggins (85), and Al Horford (62). Draymond Green added 7 points, while Jayson Tatum (15) and Andrew Wiggins (28) also contributed. Robert Williams had a strong defensive performance with 13 rebounds and 6 blocks.
Luka Doncic led the Mavericks with 73 points, the highest-scoring NBA game since Kobe Bryant's 81 on January 22, 2006. However, the Mavericks failed to get enough support from their other players, with Kyrie Irving struggling to score and the team's big men being grounded by the Celtics' defense.
The Celtics will now face the Miami Heat in the NBA Finals, which begin on June 1st.
