Karl-Anthony Towns Signs Super Max Extension

Dominican-American Superstar Inks $224 Million Deal with Timberwolves

Extension Locks Up Towns Through 2028

Minnesota Timberwolves star Karl-Anthony Towns has agreed to a four-year, $224 million super max extension, according to his agent, Jessica Holtz.

Towns, born November 15, 1995, has become a cornerstone of the Timberwolves franchise since being drafted first overall in 2015. The Dominican-American forward has averaged 22.3 points, 11.4 rebounds, and 3.4 assists per game over his seven seasons in Minnesota.

The extension, which begins after the 2023-24 season, will keep Towns in a Timberwolves uniform through the 2027-28 campaign. He is expected to continue leading the team's young core alongside Anthony Edwards and D'Angelo Russell.

Towns' signing comes as the Timberwolves prepare for a pivotal season under new head coach Chris Finch. The team finished 46-36 last season and reached the Western Conference Semifinals.
