USA drawn into tough group for 2024 Paris Olympics basketball tournament
Team USA will face South Sudan and France in Group C
The United States have been drawn into a tough group for the men's basketball tournament at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Gregg Popovich's team will face South Sudan and France in Group C, while Spain, Argentina and Australia make up Group B.
The top two teams from each group will advance to the quarterfinals.
The United States are the defending champions, having won the gold medal at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
They will be looking to extend their winning streak to four Games, having also won gold in 2008, 2012 and 2016.
France will be one of the United States' main challengers in Group C.
The French team won the silver medal at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and are ranked third in the FIBA World Ranking.
South Sudan will be making their Olympic debut in 2024.
The team is ranked 60th in the FIBA World Ranking, but they have a number of talented players, including Thon Maker of the Milwaukee Bucks.
The 2024 Paris Olympics will be held from July 26 to August 11.
The men's basketball tournament will begin on July 27.
