The 2008 Beijing Olympics saw some of the most exciting and memorable gymnastics performances in the history of the sport. The Chinese team dominated the competition, winning both the men's and women's team gold medals, as well as several individual medals.

The United States also had a strong showing, with Nastia Liukin winning the women's all-around gold medal and Shawn Johnson taking silver. The bronze medals in both the men's and women's all-around went to athletes from Japan and China, respectively.
