Aiken Woman to Compete in Paris Paralympic Games

Proud South Carolinian to Represent the United States in 2024 Games

Aiken, South Carolina native, Rhonda Jarvis, is set to compete in the 2024 Paris Paralympic Games. Jarvis is a long-time athlete and advocate for people with disabilities.

Jarvis was born with spina bifida, a birth defect that affects the spinal cord. She has used a wheelchair her entire life, but that has not stopped her from pursuing her dreams.

Jarvis began competing in track and field in high school. She quickly rose through the ranks, becoming one of the top wheelchair racers in the country.

In 2021, Jarvis made her Paralympic debut at the Tokyo Games. She competed in the 100-meter, 200-meter, and 400-meter races.

Jarvis is now preparing for the 2024 Paris Games. She is hoping to medal in all three of her events.

In addition to her athletic career, Jarvis is also a motivational speaker. She travels the country, sharing her story and inspiring others.
