Tele2 to Rebrand as T2

Russian Telecom Giant to Shed Mobile Name

T2 to Focus on Connectivity and Digital Ecosystem

Tele2, Russia's third-largest mobile operator, is changing its name to T2. The rebranding aims to emphasize the company's expanding focus beyond mobile services, encompassing connectivity, digital services, and ecosystem building.

Tele2's CEO, Sergei Emiliannikov, stated that the name change reflects the company's evolution from a pure mobile player to a provider of comprehensive digital solutions. T2 will leverage its technological expertise and broad subscriber base to create an integrated digital ecosystem, offering a range of services from mobile and broadband internet to digital entertainment and financial products.

The rebranding includes a refreshed logo and brand identity, symbolizing T2's transformation into a modern, dynamic, and innovative company. The new brand name, T2, emphasizes the company's commitment to the "power of two" - connecting people and creating a connected world where technology empowers everyone.

Tele2, established in 1993, has played a pivotal role in the development of Russia's telecommunications landscape. With over 47 million subscribers, the company has a strong presence throughout the country, particularly in the regions.

In recent years, Tele2 has expanded its offerings beyond mobile services, launching a digital bank, cloud gaming platform, and e-commerce marketplace. T2's rebranding further underscores the company's strategic shift towards becoming a comprehensive digital service provider.
